The Mourning Bird

Official poster designs for the short film “The Mourning Bird”, written and directed by George Somner.

As the film was so cinematically strong, I went for a still based approach to the poster design, keeping the title design simple and letting the image speak for itself.

The film was shot in a 21x9 widescreen aspect ratio, so I used Photoshop to extend the images and make them work for the dimensions of the poster.

Below is the alternate poster, using the orange hue running throughout the film’s cinematography and incoorporating it into the title design.
